National Incident Management System Training

FEMA provides free emergency response trainings for those wishing to improve their training and knowledge in National Incident Management System (NIMS). The FEMA website provides more detail stating “The Emergency Management Institute works in collaboration with the whole community to provide training in support of the NIMS Training Program. The Preparedness Branch coordinates EMI’s NIMS training efforts with the National Integration Center (NIC) to integrate NIMS doctrine and training with whole community needs.

Public Information Officer (PIO) Training Plan and Resources

The San Luis Valley Healthcare Coalition has compiled the following information for coalition member organizations and their designated Public Information Officers who wish to pursue additional training in this field to further their capacity to respond and support the health and medical efforts of the San Luis Valley Region during an emergency.

Per the 2021-2022 SOW, “The Contractor shall implement a training plan to provide PIO training.” and Deliverable #29 “The Contractor shall submit the PIO training plan.”

Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC)
